Games I Like: Gochi-Show! for Girls -How to Learn Japanese Cooking Game-

Way back in 2006, I picked up a game called Cooking Mama for my Nintendo DS. It’s a kind of cooking simulation, made up of a bunch of little minigames that replicate what it’s like to cook any number of dishes. You’d sautee bacon in a pan by pushing it around with the stylus.

The whole thing was super cute and fun, but it bothered me because it wasn’t actually using real recipes or replicating real cooking times for the meals. If I’m gonna be fake-cooking, I still want it to be like real cooking, dammit!

Anyhoo, years later, I bought a whole haul of games on Steam last time they had a sale, and I snagged one, for a whole $2.75, called Gochi-Show! for Girls -How To Learn Japanese Cooking Game-.
